Federal investigators are examining whether missing bolts may have caused a door panel to slide up and fly off an Alaska Airlines jetliner. This comes after Alaska and United Airlines reported finding loose parts in the panels of some other Boeing 737 Max 9 jets. Both airlines indicated that there were installation issues, such as bolts needing additional tightening. The findings are increasing pressure on Boeing to address safety concerns following the recent fuselage blowout incident. The panel that came off during the flight was a plug covering an emergency door location.
